Sophie is a communist when it comes to art. Her practice is open source. Her work is public. Her belief that art is open drives her practice.
Sophie lived in Munich, studied physics at Imperial College and worked in international tax. A mother of 2, Sophie was diagnosed with early onset Parkinsons Disease in 2007 This was a catalyst for change.
She left the world of finance and founded Cheltenham’s Nau Arts in 2017, providing studio, workshop and exhibition space to local emerging artists.
Sophie also graduated from the University of Gloucestershire’s Fine Art masters programme in March 2020. Her final piece celebrating Preston’s iconic Bus Station was part of her wider research into modern day landscapes and what they mean to their users. She is interested in making landscapes from more than visual cues.
