Sophie is a communist when it comes to art. Her practice is open source. Her work is public. Her belief that art is open drives her practice.
She graduated from the Universty 9f Gloucestershire’s Fine Art masters programme in March 2020. Her final piece celebrating Preston’s iconic Bus Station was part of her wider research into modern day landscapes and what they mean to their users. She is interested in making landscapes from more than visual cues.
A mother of 2, Sophie was diagnosed with early onset Parkinsons Disease in 2007 This was a catalyst for change that led to her founding Cheltenham’s Nau Arts in 2017, providing studio, workshop and exhibition space to local emerging artists.
