Japanese culture has always fascinated me. Concurrently, I have harboured a passion for small boxes and drawers. My house is full of examples of such vintage and decorative items. However, as I get older I find myself seeking to distill my belongings, interests and activities. Prioritising the use of my remaining energies has become very important to me. Thus, I am about to start on a programme of reevaluation, reclamation, recycling and removal of the unnecessary from my life. This will be objects, feelings, beliefs and yes, people if necessary. I want to renew to fit my future. I have been stuck in the past for too long and it is not serving me well.

I think Inro culture and history is an ideal container, real and metaphorical for this exercise. I hope you enjoy the journey.
